S2 Framing Hammer

Challenge - The world's largest producer of quality hammers and one of America’s oldest brands, Vaughan & Bushnell, asked ATOMdesign to develop an innovative hammer for their product line. They were challenged with developing a product that would leap off the retail shelf, protect the handle from damage, minimize shock during use, and allow for easy replacement of the head and still be accomplished with a traditional wooden handle.

Results - ATOMdesign didn’t take the challenge lightly, delivering a revolutionary new hammer design and securing a U.S. utility Patent with 27 claims. The S2 has been widely received by retailers and has won several major international design awards.

Ultimately this exciting new design aims to transform the marketplace by shifting the boundaries within its timeless category.
